INSTRUCTIONS
WEEK 1 | Hearst Mansion
27.08.2018
Our first class began with the explanation of our module and what we will be covering during the semester. We were also briefed on what we will be learning and working on for the week. We were shown tutorials by Mr.Jeffrey on an introduction and overview of photoshop and basic tools necessary for the class. By the end of the class we learned to do the following things:
- Interface overview
- Shortcut keys
- Quick Selection
- Layer
- Masking
- Opacity
- Free Transform
- Using Brush
- Using Quick Selection tool
We were asked to photoshop Christopher Robin into Hearst Mansion.

WEEK 2

WEEK 3 | Ghost House

This week's exercise was to follow an online tutorial by Mr.Jeff to create a ghost mansion using the files that were shared to us via drop box.

Important steps for the work done:
- Using polygon tool for selection
- Creating a mask
- Playing around with blending tools and transparency to get the right effect
- Image Adjustments, most importantly matching color to the background.

WEEK 4 | Recoloring

For this week, we learned recoloring a black and white photo. A tutorial was shown in class and we were asked to follow the process and present a final piece with colors.
Important steps for the work done:
- Experimenting with different colors, opacity, brushes and blending modes
- Using eyedropper tool for as a shortcut to get the skin color from a reference
- Adjusting Hue and saturation
- Using layers for smarter edit (Nose, eyes, hair different layers with different colors and blending modes)

For our exercise we were asked to pick a photo from preferably the 1920s and to recolor it.
I chose a photo of Marilyn Monroe.

WEEK 5 | Clone Stamps/Healing Brush
18.09.2018
We learned the tools, cloning stamp and healing brush in this week's class. We used these tools on the face of a baby and covered pimples, dark spots, redness, scars and to duplicate some of his facial features for practice.
Important steps for the work done:
- When using clone tool, hold down the alt key and click on the area we want to be used as the clone and release and then cover the area we want to cover
- Healing brush is used just like a regular brush

Important steps for the work done:
- Open both texture and flag file, select and copy the texture and paste ontop of the flag and save as flag.psd
- On the texture file, desaturate and add blur of 4 pixels and the adjust brightness and contrast a bit, and finally save the file as texture.psd
- Open the flag.psd file and hide the texture layer. Click the flag layer and displace (Filter>Distort>Displace>Set horizontal and vertical as 10> choose Texture.psd file) and reveal the texture layer, change the blending mode to multiply.

WEEK 6 | Changing One's Stripes

For this week our exercise was using our knowledge from last week's flag exercise to add a snake texture to an old man's face.

WEEK 7 | Castle of Pyrenees
02.10.2018
For this week's exercise we were to recreate our own surrealistic floating castle. This work was inspired by a painting by Rene Magritte called "Castle of Pyrenees". To complete the exercise we were to fully utilize the use of all the tools we have learned so far.

WEEK 8: Dali Atomicus

This week's exercise is to recreate the 'Dali Atomicus', an artwork by Philippe Halsman in 1948. We had to take photos on our own and recreate the artwork by using the photos we take.

- When masking a green screen, use polygon tool > Select > Color Range > Use eyedropper on the green area > Hold shift to add more green
