WEEK 1 | 27.08.2018
Our first day began with a brief introduction of the structure of the module and small introduction to Adobe Illustrator. We were introduced with the pen tool and tracing images with the tool. The lecturer showed us how to do it and asked us to follow him. We were given the task to trace the image below, using the pen tool. And after the tracing we were assigned these shapes to create a Varmator.
The Rules of the artwork were as follows:
- Scaling is allowed Proportionally but no free transform
- Not obliged to use all elements
- Rotating, flipping, and duplicating is allowed
- Can add, subtract, and group elements
- Use of color not restricted
- Allowed to use gradient
- No strokes, filters or effects

WEEK 2 | 03.08.2018
We were assigned to continue working on our Vermator character while the lecturer introduced us to Knife tool to add shadows by coloring cut areas and add more texture to our characters. We were taught how to use pathfinder to group and ungroup the elements.
We were asked to create a silhouette character at first and then add colors later.

This week we worked with colors, texture and gradient. We used these for our characters. Below is my character colored and highlights and shadows added using knife tool.

This week we worked on the last step of the getting the right background for the character and laser cutting of our finalized character.

On this week we used what we've learned throughout all the other exercises. The exercises given was called Chiaroscuro, in which we use mostly the knife tool and pathfinder to create shadows, highlights, etc. We were given a photograph of a pear and a man to trace out and create shadow and highlights.

On this class we learned about the different transitions that have been applied in comic books, graphic novels and fils. We were then assigned an exercise to test our understanding of these transitions.

Week 9 | 18.10.2018
This Weeks Mr.Kannan's class, he introduced us to drawing in photoshop as a practice for our graphic novel.
