WEEK 11 | Research and Beginning

I looked at the examples given in the google classroom and immediately knew that I wanted to create something like the portrait examples that were shown so I started looking at more example on Pinterest. However, instead of recreating something that has already been done, I wanted to create something new and creative. Mr.Hafiz showed us the video song "Up" by cold play and he said that we can take inspiration from it. Try making two things that are totally different work together in a composition.

I then started looking at free stock photographs that I could use and photographs that I could work with. I used photos from https://unsplash.com/
Original Photo I wanted to Work with
I got the idea of having something like a volcanic ash coming out of the orange so I searched for a free stock video from https://www.videvo.net/video/time-lapse:-day-to-night-city/2644/
However, could not find it so I got some other videos that I thought I could use.

After getting the videos I opened all my files on photoshop.
Masking out the Background and Orange
Galaxy Background added
Fire Adding
Exploring with Blending modes
Animating Attempt on Photoshop
Animation on Photoshop was a bit difficult as the videos were playing slow so I decided to try working on it on After Effects.

WEEK 12 | Exploring with Composition on AE

I used the girl that was already edited on photoshop with no background, after saving it as png image and did my final work on After Effects.

Start of work in AE
Compiling Process
I used feathering and blending modes to get rid of the background of the Fire and blend the fire into the composition.
Time Stretch Process
I also did time time stretch of the jellyfish movement to decrease the length of the video in order to increase the speed of the movement of the jelly fish. Initially the video was 15 second long, I decreased it to 3 seconds. Mr.Hafiz said to add some movement to the girl outfit so I added a grain field and made the composition better.
Original file of the Grain field added

After compiling everything together and adjusting the animation process, the video of the jellyfish movement still did not work well with the composition so I replaced it with river water movement.

Water File Editing

Animation Process
This composition worked well and the jitter at the end was very subtle. Mr.Jeff said that it would not get as perfect as  I had pictured it my mind but the composition and the movement is working well and that he likes the work right now. He said that it was beautiful and said that I have done a good job and to just export the file.

WEEK 13 | Final Completion and Submission

After I was done with  all the composition and adjusting the animation and video, I tried exporting the file as a gif, however I could not export it a gif so I exported it as video and converted it to a gif later.
