PROJECT 1

WEEK 8 | Recomposition of Jacek Yerka's Surrealistic Painting

Our first project was to recreate our own version of any of Jacek Yerka's paintings. We were assigned to recreate it using our own images and also some stock images, on adobe photoshop by utilizing all the things we have learned so far. For this project the size should be 1920 x 1080.

WEEK 9 | Process

I started my work by making changes to the building to get the right angle and perspective and using the clone tool I cloned out windows and placed the windows at the places in the original painting. I also used the clone tool along with perspective warp and also using the brush added highlights and shadows to the building.

Then I moved onto the foreground grass and the background bush. I played around with the hue/saturation, levels, curves, exposure, vibrance and color balance to get the matching color. I added the original photo for reference.

WEEK 9 | Final compilation and touchups

I started compiling all the images to create the composition. I started with masking the grass and bush over the compilation of the buildings and adding shadows and highlights to blend it all in well.
And then I started masking and adjusting the small objects in the photo, the lamp, tissue falling, feather and the stair. I added blue color gradient for the sky.
