WEEK 7- 8 | 08.10.18

Our first project for Illustration and Visual Narrative was to create a graphic novel for a short story of our choosing. Mr.Hafiz gave us stories of Edgar Allan Po and I chose the story The Masque of the Red Death. I began with a mind map and researching on my color palette and the style of art I wanted to use. We were to use at-least 3 types of transitions in our novel.

WEEK 9 | Illustration Process

After the sketches were approved by Mr.Hafiz and Mr.Kannan, I started the illustration process on Adobe Illustration.

Then I exported the file to Photoshop for detailing and adjustments and final works.

WEEK 10 - 11 | Final compilation and touchups

After Mr.Hafiz checked my work, he liked my art style and the illustrations were good but he asked to make some changes to the compositions. He suggested emphasizing on the clock in the second frame of the clock by resizing and using highlight and blur to focus on the part where the clock strikes at midnight. He also suggested recomposition of the face reveal in frame 6, to showing the nose of the skull as well and cutting part of the knife out of the frame so the composition looks more interesting and visually appealing. Mr.Kannan Suggested adding more highlights and shadows to make the novel more better.
