Final Project (BrainStorming) | WEEK 10
I looked at some of the works from Pinterest following the link in the MIB. I saw some ideas that looked good.

Final Project (Starting) | WEEK 11
I started sketching some ideas and searched for the best quote to use for my poster. I wanted to convey the message of reducing electricity usage by switching or turning off the lights. I wanted to bring in the sense of a light bulb and shadows. So I started sketching and doing some rough works on illustrator and photoshop just to see if the idea looked good.

Final Project (Progress) | WEEK 12
Since I wanted a simple and clean look for the poster, and at the same time I did not want to make it too simple and boring, I started brainstorming ideas on improving the composition when I started working on Adobe Illustrator.

The dot on the top did not balance well and the individual shapes did not interplay or work well off each other as per Mr.Vinod and he asked me to compare my work with the examples given.
I also did not personally like the whole composition. So I did couple more different compositions. I used grid lines to make sure all the words aligned well and used a bit of kerning on the large text. First design is without any kerning. However, it has been done in other designs.

Over the weekend I worked more on getting the final work to its best. So I consulted through facebook with Mr.Vinod and made more adjustments.
Mr.Vinod suggested replacing the straight line of the power button to a lightning symbol to convey the message more clearly because right now the off could mean for mobile phones and such devices.
I also removed the exclamation mark near FF as Mr.Vinod said that the existence of two exclamation marks in two sizes might be redundant. He said I have to make readjustments, however to keep the look and feel the same. He also said to keep in mind that even though the size is A3, the width can be smaller.

ANIMATION PROCESS
I practiced animation before the final design was completed so I animated the first design and explored with colors. I sent attempt 5 to Mr.Vinod and Mr.Shamsul. Mr.Vinod said its nice and Mr.Shamsul said that it okay.I used 21 art boards at first.

FEEDBACK
Week 10: 31.10.2018
Specific Feedback: Mr. Shamsul said that my project 1 and 2 was okay and good enough for final printing and that there is no problem with it.
Week 11:
No feedback due to E-Learning week.
Week 12:
Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul said that I have to show the development process of my font in project 2 and the screenshot of the font lab work. And also to update further reading for project 1 and 2 week. Apart from that, they both said that I have done a good job. For the final project, Mr.Vinod and Mr. Shamsul suggested that I make the words larger since the project requires to the text to be occupying 3/4 of the page. Mr.Vinod said to replace the sentence. He also said to be careful when having the background all black, it takes the focus away from all of the work I have done. He said to try to try to make it work with white.
Over the weekend I tried different approaches. After checking he said that the elements used in the poster does not balance well. The individual shapes did not interplay or work well off each other.
Week 13:
Specific feedback: After I showed Mr. Shamsul some different ideas, he chose one and said to make the text larger and align it well to not leave extra space. After adjusting that, he suggested to add a huge exclamation mark to make it less simple. Mr.Vinod and Mr. Shamsul both liked my final design and asked to print it out. After printing, Mr.Vinod said to make the exclamation mark smaller and to align it to the "SWITCH IT OFF" text. He liked the final outcome and said that it looks much better.
Later During the weekend Mr.Vinod asked me to to replace the straight line in the symbol by a lightning symbol and to remove the small exclamation mark. Mr.Vinod said my animation is nice. Mr. Shamsul said the animation is okay.
REFLECTIONS
EXPERIENCE
Week 10:
The class was very free and we got time to brainstorm ideas for the final project as well as catch up on the incomplete works of project 1 and 2.
Week 11:
No lecture due to e-learning week.
Week 12:
The class was quiet and everyone was working on different things as Mr.Vinod and Mr.Shamsul were checking and giving feedback to our project 1 and 2.
Week 13:
We had a kind of a hectic class with Mr.Vinod and Mr.Shamsul running around helping us all with our posters. Both the lecturers have been very helpful throughout the process.
OBSERVATIONS
Week 10:
I noticed that everyone was quiet relaxed and was trying to catch up and finish all the project 1 and 2 works.
Week 11:
No lecture due to e-learning week.
Week 12:
I noticed that most of my classmates were also struggling like me and the stress of final projects were getting to everyone.
Week 13:
I see that alot of people were using more graphics in their posters rather than typography. Too much of graphics were being put into.
FINDINGS
Week 10:
I realized that we have a pretty tight schedule and I cant afford to fall behind as we dont have much time for the final project.
Week 11:
No lecture due to e-learning week.
Week 12:
I realized that it was good to have the blog updated all through out the whole semester and it saves alot of time in the end.
Weak 13:
This typography module is almost done and I have learned alot. From where I began to how I see everything is different because of typography. Even-though sometimes I struggle, in the end my designs have reflected what I've learned and everything looks better.
