LECTURES

LECTURE  | INTRODUCTION

First class briefed us into the module and assignments. We then proceeded with our first After Effects exercise in order to test our knowledge on After Effects.

Lecture 1 | History of Information Visualization

First lecture was on the history of information visualization.

LECTURE 2 | Manuel Lima's 9 Directive Manifesto

Second lecture was based on the 9 Directive Manifesto of Manuel Lima.
A group presentation was to be prepared and presented. Below is our group presentation.

LECTURE 3  | L.A.T.C.H

For the third lecture was about Saul Wurman's L.A.T.C.H a method of information organization, consisting of Location, Alphabet, Time, Category, and Hierarchy.

Below is the our groups knowledge on the topic.

LECTURE 4 | CHUNKING

This week our presentation was on Millers Law: Chunking. Chunking is the function of grouping information together by perceptual features. It allows the brain cells to increase the short term memory as the information is stored in small chunks rather than huge blocks of information.

Below is our group presentation about the above mentioned theory.

LECTURE 5 | ISOMETRIC DESIGN

This week our presentation was based on Isometric Design. Isometric design allows an artist to draw the objects in three dimensions. It is usually practiced by engineers and architectures.

Below is our groups presentation on the topic.

IN CLASS EXERCISES

WEEK 1  | 07.01.2019 - 11.01.2019
Basic Tutorial

We were asked to choose any topic of of our own choice and by using statistics create an animated infographic video.
I decided to do something related to Basketball. I chose to do a comparison between Stephen Curry from the team Warriors and Lebron James from Cavaliers, the most compared two players right now.
First I searched for photos and game statistics and started animation on AE with the photos.
