WORK
Week 6
In class we started our project 1 work. I started looking at some inspiration and tried to choose a key artwork for the project. Below are some of the references I found for the layout inspiration as well as some key artwork inspiration. Some of the key meaning of the title: coloring outside the lines, different. At first I wanted include a key element and not exactly a photo, to mainly focus on the typography so I decided to incorporate the idea of hand signals of rebels or people generally okay with being different and embraces it. I also took the meaning of being locked away as a trouble maker, thus choosing the chains as an object.
After looking at the examples provided by the lecturers, I also wanted to include a photo and make it a bit more exciting. I looked at some sculptures.
I decided to choose Medusa as she is known for being evil and thus kinda represent trouble. In greek mythology, Medusa was a monster, a Gorgon, generally described as a winged human female with living venomous snakes in place of her hair. Those who gaze upon her face would turn stone. I decided to make the sculpture different.
Week 7
After showing my first drafts to Mr.Vinod, he suggested not using Greek Methodology and to use something local. He said that text was nice and to find something to replace the photo of Medusa.
After seeing my second drafts, Mr.Vinod said that the black layout with skull was interesting however its not there and it should work well in white as well. The 5th and 6th layout looked better and the image was interesting. He suggested playing around with the arrangement of the texts around the subject. He said to work on it a more and for the 5th layout he said to try not to make it that creepy yet interesting, the photo seems very edgy and nice.

FEEDBACKS
Week 6:
Online feedback: Finding Type Mr.Vinod: Looks much better. Increase the thickness of the stroke and see. Later: Improving. Online feedback: Type & Play Mr.Shamsul: You can still work on this. Make the alignment better. Maybe the word of shouldn't be as big as faith. I like this the most as it have the interplay between the text and image. Alright. Good work Looking at my final outcome for finding type, Mr.Vinod said that it was a very good work and he would like me to develop this typeface as he has never seen a typeface with this type of features and he liked the characteristics of the type, the gaps and the knot. For my type & play Mr.Vinod and Mr.Shamsul said that it is good and I have managed to make the words interplay well. He asked to change the size of the word 'Faith". Apart from that the work was approved and good to go.
Week 7:
Specific Feedback: The type is good and interesting, however the photo used could be replaced with something local related. Mr.Vinod said to find something I can replace the Medusa photo and make it work with the current type expressed in the layout. After trying out another layout, Mr.Vinod liked the photo used and said to work on it more and try to make the letters fit in well within the new photo.
Online Feedback:
Space, positioning, balance. Use the diagonal cut of the picture ... think.
Week 8:
Specific feedback: Almost there but not done yet. Key artwork could sue abit of an element from design. Poster layout seems fine, play around to get the best one.

REFLECTIONS
EXPERIENCE
Week 6:
Today could possibly be the best day of my Typography classes so far. When Mr.Vinod recommended developing my typeface, I felt like it would be the highest level of compliment ever to get that feedback when your lecturer thinks your class work could actually become an actual typeface.
Week 7:
Finding images for this project was quite exhausting as I had trouble locking down the meaning of Troublemaker I wanted my artwork to show. The search was for the photo or key object took so much time and it was not easy to get good quality images.
OBSERVATIONS
Week 6:
I can see that I have improved a lot from where I started and although I critique my work to the fullest and I am never satisfied with my work, it has proven to be an advantage and it makes me work more and get better designs at the end. It allows me to push beyond my limitations and be more creative and experimental.
Week 7:
I saw that most of the photos I wanted to use was difficult to find and it took some time to get images I wanted to show. I realized that in order to make the images work well with the layout, I have to create the artwork by editing the image and making changes and adding elements to make it more artistic rather than a photograph.
FINDINGS
Week 6:
Through all the struggles, when I finish my work and hand it over the response I get from my classmates and the lecturers make it worth it. When all the hard work pays off and is recognized, all the late nights and frustrations seems like a small steps to just go through to get the final.
Week 7:
I realized that using high quality images from free stock image websites was better to my final layout and made it easier to edit and create a big enough file size that can be used in A3 as well.
