WORK

BOX MAKING

Week 2
We were asked to bring an example of a good packaging and also a product for a to prepare a packaging as well.
For an example I brought the Apple Watch box as I like the packaging and is quite simple yet unique.

As I product I brought a perfume bottle as well as my apple watch. As the bottle seemed boring to prepare a package for, I went with the watch and started by deciding on the type of packaging. After that, I measured the product and the existing box.

As per Mr.Shamsuls advice, I decided to make the box smaller than the original size and also try to solve the problem of difficulty in opening of the box, which is common in apple product boxes.

Measuring the Sizes and initial box layout

Final Box Layout
After seeing the sizing, we created a prototype of the box before heading to laser cut next week.

BOTTLE LABEL

Week
For this exercise we had to choose a bottle label that needs to be improved, where the current version is not much efficient. After looking at whats out there, I chose a tea bottle which looked very blank and unattractive on the shelf, which looks very different from traditional tea bottles. The bottle looked too similar to a coke bottle which was misleading at first glance.

Back of the Bottle
After looking at the label, I looked for some references before moving to creating the new label. Looking at the shape of the bottle, I decided to go with a different shape as well.

However the gun melted from the heat and the outcome was unsuccessful and had a wrinkle. For my second choice I had chopsticks and spoon which resulted in the final outcome. Below is the final chosen work.

FEEDBACKS

Week 2: Try to make the box smaller than the original box. After looking at my final outcome Mr.Shamsul said that it looked okay however when we laser cut make sure to bring a thicker paper as the box was too flimsy and fragile.

Week 3: Mr.Shamsul said the box seems okay however the sizing has to be changed a bit to make it

Week 4: No feedback
