PROJECT 2
This semester overall has been a real rollercoaster for me. It was a huge life lesson. I found out how much work could actually make me unproductive. The whole semester I spent trying to get ahold of everything and till the end I was unable to get ahold of things. Despite that, I am happy with the fact that I was able to complete my works. Mr.Vinods guidance has helped alot for me to not stray out of line. Although I do feel bad for maybe not being able to meet his expectations. I feel like after everything I have learned from the first semester to now, I should be able to produce much better work, however the amount of workload from all 5 modules affect the outcome alot. However, due to the arrangement of the module and the constant reminder from Mr.Vinod has helped make sure we go according to plan and meet the deadlines. Also, with the technical difficulties, it was nice to have everyone working on it together and figuring things out. This module has certainly taught us more things in addition to publishing design. Most of all, the module allowed me to learn alot about publishing and the crucial parts to consider. The module has aided me alot in other modules to a great extent and I am greatful for it. Without this module I would have alot of questions in many of the designs we had to finish for other modules as well. It has made me a better designer by gaining knowledge.
OBSERVATION
This class has certainly made our class better. All our classmates seem to have a good time in class and everyone is more interactive and its nice to have laughs once in a while in class and I see that everyone enjoys the class. Additionally for my development, the module has made me be more careful with every design decision I make. Choosing the type of illustrations, choosing typeface, and colors and also using grid system rules are all very important things we learned from our semester 1 and these came into effect alot during this module and has aided our work very well. Publishing design was something that I did not pay much attention to before. However, this module has certainly peaked my interest and I would study this module again also. I would certainly like to design more books in my free time in order to learn more and gain better experience. Publishing design is very crucial to all designers and this module has taught to how much extent it is important.
FINDINGS
There are so many details that goes into a publishing design and this module has certainly given alot of insights into the process. Creating an E book publication also allowed us to learn alot about technical and other aspects of publication design. This module has also taught me alot about reading more. I found myself turning to books again, after a while, for inspiration. Publication design has always been something I was surrounded with, books has been part of me for a long time and it went away for while but this module has brought it back and the design aspects are a huge part of the books that I pick up now. I see myself looking at layouts and text formatting and its interesting to see myself changing with the things learned from this module. So I would like to thank Mr.Vinod for making this module so interesting and fun to learn. With his brilliant insights and comments, my interest in the field has certainly grown. I will miss having him as a lecturer, mostly for how invested he is in our work and making sure we follow through with our deadlines and also for being a great help with other modules as well. Thank you Mr.Vinod, you're a great lecturer, hope to work with you in the future.
